Advent
The word "Advent" comes from the Latin and means "coming."
The Advent season is the four weeks before Christmas and begins December 3, 2023.
Advent Wreaths
The Advent wreath is usually in the shape of a circle which represents eternity. It can have either four or five candles. The first two candles are purple, the third candle is pink, the fourth candle is purple, and the fifth candle is white.
Each week, a candle is lit with
Week 1 representing Hope, Week 2 Love, Week 3 Joy, and Week 4 Peace
The fifth candle is lit on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
