Egg Project
This new mission project was started in July 2022. Its purpose is to support local farmers and also to donate farm fresh eggs to senior citizens in our community.
From time to time, our local small family farms have a surplus of fresh eggs that exceeds their selling capacity. Session has approved a project jointly run through the Deacons and the Mission Committee in which we would purchase the surplus eggs, when available, from the local farmers and donate them to the seniors of the RACW (Redevelopment Authority of Washington County) apartments.
As of December 2022, 1050 deliveries to seniors in the RACW apartment buildings have been made with each receiving a half dozen fresh eggs. A second delivery has started in all 9 of the apartment properties. The residents are delighted.
